225 Computers for Tsuut’ina Schools: A Network Milestone

In 2015, CBC reported on a milestone for our Canadian parent organization, the Electronic Recycling Association: 225 donated computers reaching Tsuut’ina Nation schools.

The relationship did not end there. In 2017, a Giving Tuesday gift to Tsuut’ina was covered by CTV Calgary. That same year, Shell Canada donated $1 million worth of technology through ERA — a “$1-million computer donation” benefiting First Nations communities.

A long commitment

Tsuut’ina is part of a pattern across the ERA network, which has supported recipients including Saulteau First Nations, the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation School and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing. Technology access should not depend on where you live, and the network has backed that belief with hardware: 500+ charities, schools and nonprofits supported, and 11,400+ devices donated between 2018 and 2025.

What it means as ERA grows in the US

ERA USA, the Electronic Reusing Association, carries that commitment forward. With warehouses in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach and a presence in Chicago and Houston, the same model now serves American communities: secure data destruction for businesses, refurbished devices for the organizations that need them most.

Milestones like 225 computers for Tsuut’ina schools are why we do this work. They prove that one company’s retired equipment, handled well, becomes a community’s opportunity.

Be part of the next milestone. Book a business pickup to give your retired equipment a second life, or apply for refurbished technology for your organization.
