11,400 Devices and Counting: The ERA Network's 2018–2025 Impact
Between 2018 and 2025, the ERA network — the Electronic Reusing Association in the United States together with our Canadian parent organization, the Electronic Recycling Association — donated more than 11,400 devices to charities, schools and nonprofits.
The full breakdown, 2018–2025
- ~7,700 laptops
- ~1,900 desktops
- ~700 monitors
- ~420 projectors
- ~310 phones
- ~230 tablets
- ~200 printers
- ~15 Chromebooks
- ~10 networking devices
Every one of those devices started as retired equipment, went through certified data erasure and refurbishment, and ended up where it could do the most good. Along the way, the network has supported 500+ charities, schools and nonprofits.
2026 is moving even faster
The pace has not let up. From January through May 2026 alone, the network donated nearly 900 devices — 611 laptops, 81 desktops, 62 tablets and iPads, 65 phones, plus dozens of projectors, monitors and printers.
The number that matters most
More than 1,000 charities, schools and nonprofits are currently on the network's donation waitlist. The supply side of that equation is sitting in storage rooms and equipment closets across the country: working laptops and desktops that businesses no longer need.
If your company is refreshing its hardware, book a free pickup — we handle certified data destruction and put the equipment back to work. If your organization needs technology, apply for a donation.
