The Day the Network Delivered 550 Devices: A Giving Tuesday Story
Every Giving Tuesday, we think back to the one that set the bar. On Giving Tuesday 2018, the ERA network delivered more than 550 devices to 28 organizations in a single day — across four time zones.
What one day looked like
- Laptops to First Nations schools in northern British Columbia, including 20 laptops to Blueberry River
- 107 smartphones to CNIB Calgary
- 80 computers to the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth
- 35 laptops to a school in Fort St. John, British Columbia
Behind each line is the same story: equipment a business no longer needed, securely wiped, refurbished and delivered to people who could put it straight to work.
Why it still matters
That record-setting day came in the same year the network donated to more than 200 organizations Canada-wide and announced its expansion into the United States as the Electronic Reusing Association. The model has only grown since: between 2018 and 2025, the network donated more than 11,400 devices.
But Giving Tuesday is one day, and the need is year-round. More than 1,000 charities, schools and nonprofits are currently on the network's donation waitlist.
This Giving Tuesday, your business can be the supply side of the story. Book a free equipment pickup — or if your organization needs technology, apply for a donation.
