Nearly 900 Devices Donated: How ERA Is Empowering Communities Across Canada Through Technology Reuse
Nearly 900 devices donated in just the first five months of 2026
Because people donate tech to the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), each gift can bring good change.
Since January, donors, partners, and people have helped ERA. ERA has given nearly 900 fixed devices and tech items across Canada. Charities, schools, groups, and people received them. These gifts help close the digital gap and aid learning. Also, they strengthen nonprofit work and keep useful devices out of landfills.
Also, we help aid groups across the country.
Recently, ERA gave laptops, desktop computers, tablets, phones, projectors, printers, and other tech to groups. Also, these groups make a real difference in local areas.
Also, we recently helped these groups:
- The Native Women’s Shelter (Montreal, QC)
- Park Street Education (Toronto, ON)
- The Salvation Army (Edmonton, AB)
- Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (Ottawa, ON)
- Nova Scotia Environmental Network (Halifax, NS)
- Wabanaki Two-Spirit Alliance (Nova Scotia)
- Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Centre (Alberta)
- Saint Benedicts Table (Winnipeg, MB)
- Autism in Mind (Toronto, ON)
- YMCA of Saskatoon (SK)
- Centre for Newcomers (Calgary, AB)
- Canadian Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) (Calgary, AB)
These groups use donated tech to support learning, job training, and wider access. Also, they support help for newcomers, local programs, and key aid for at-risk people.

Also, ERA’s recent donations have helped provide:
- 611 laptops
- 81 desktop computers
- 62 tablets and iPads
- 65 mobile phones
- Dozens of projectors, monitors, printers, and other technology devices
Each tech gift opens new chances to learn, work, connect, and help groups. Also, it cuts e-waste.
However, over 1,000 charities still need tech.
ERA has already given nearly 900 devices. However, the need remains great. More than 1,000 charities, schools, community groups, and nonprofits now wait for ERA tech.
Many groups depend on donated devices. Because of these gifts, they help newcomers, students, seniors, and disabled people. They also help low-income families and other at-risk groups.
Every gift matters.
Whether your group has one laptop or hundreds of devices, your gift can make a real difference. Also, one laptop can help a student finish schoolwork or support a job seeker. It can give a nonprofit the tools to provide vital community services.
So, your company’s unused tech can help others.
If your group has retired laptops, desktops, tablets, monitors, phones, or IT gear, contact ERA. Then, ERA safely repairs and gives them to charities and people most in need.
Also, you can help by giving your unused tech:
- Support charities and nonprofits across Canada
- Advance digital inclusion and accessibility
- Reduce electronic waste and extend the life of technology
- Strengthen your organization’s environmental and social impact
Together, we can cut e-waste and help tech last longer. Also, we can make more chances for local groups across Canada.
