Giving the Gift of Technology to Organizations that Give their Time to Improve our Communities
“One Man’s Trash is Another Man’s Treasure”
What do you do with your unwanted or used electronics? Ever thought about where your electronics end up once you dispose of them? We have the solution!
ERA donates them to organizations in need, just like we did today to The Mustard Seed and to Transitions to Communities. We had the profound pleasure of presenting these devices with the help of MLA Kathleen Ganley whose riding is Calgary-Buffalo area.
The Mustard Seed was the first organization we visited to receive a donation of 10 laptops. Their mission is to build hope and wellbeing for our most vulnerable citizens through Jesus’ love. This donation will go towards their Seed Academy Program. This program is a week long and trains individuals on how to build resumes, cover letters, find a job and participate in mock interviews. The goal at the end of the week is to leave you employment ready!
Transitions to Communities provides employment and skills development, as well as mental health knowledge, self-awareness, and coping strategies. They aim to provide the direct support needed to address veterans’ emotional and physical challenges, with a focus on employment skills, mental well-being, and peer support.
They received a donation of 18 laptops from ERA which will be placed throughout their organization but particularly within the classroom for this specific program. It will help individuals taking this program gain and improve their computer skills which are a vital skill that’s needed in the workplace.
We look forward to watching these organizations grow and their clients’ skills improve and are successful in their jobs search.
