Day of Donations in Edmonton

On Friday, August 24th three deserving organizations in the Edmonton area received the gift of technology. These organizations consisted of Brander Gardens, Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and The Elizabeth Fry Society of Edmonton. These donations will benefit each organization in different ways and help them progress in the future.

Our first donation of 1 laptop and 1 computer went to Brander Gardens. They provide instruction for elementary students in the Regular and French Immersion Programs. All students receive Music and Fine Arts instruction. A strong focus is placed on academic achievement, and on social, emotional and physical growth and development.  Students have opportunities to develop leadership skills and provide service to the school and community. This particular donation will go towards their after school program.

Our second donation of 6 laptops went to Spinal Cord Injury Alberta. They have been helping Canadians with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities. Started by a core group of WWII veterans in Ontario, the association has expanded to include offices in almost every province. Albertans with spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities will enjoy optimal physical, spiritual, economic and emotional well-being within fully accessible and welcoming communities free of physical, attitudinal and systemic barriers.

Our last donation of the day was to a client of The Elizabeth Fry Society of Edmonton who received a laptop. This organization advances the dignity and worth of all women and girls who are or may be at risk of becoming criminalized. It is a community that supports, respects, and empowers all women and girls. This donation will be used by a client who would like to remain anonymous. It will assist her with college work and communicate with the outside world.

We wish each of these recipients all the best for the future and are excited to see them progress over time.
